Below you will find various art projects by students in Years 2, 5 and 6 at Junior School Vlaskamp. You can see their skill in craftsmanship shine through in their finished products.
Making a masterpiece inspired by the Mauritshuis
JSV’s Year 6 has been inspired after visiting the Mauritshuis to view the world famous Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer. Students created their own modern day selfies with their chosen accessory. Their painted masterpieces were made after careful observational drawing, mixing skin tones from primary colours and capturing light and dark tones. We think the results are very impressive!
Monumental spacemen
JSV Y5 has been developing their drawing skills to produce these monumental spacemen from tiny toy figures! After studying drawings by Henry Moore, they have enjoyed exploring different materials from oil pastels to wax resist techniques to spraying ink!
Colour mixing, collage and Eric Carle
JSV Year 2 has explored colour mixing to create cut-out animals inspired by the illustrations of Eric Carle.
The BSN offers art instruction as early as Foundation Stage 1, allowing children the space to learn and grow creatively. Learn more about our art programme on our website.
