Girls Basketball Captain Emma Fraser takes us through a roller-coaster three days in Frankfurt.
The ISST Girls Basketball team set off for Frankfurt on a very rainy Wednesday morning. The Dutch league has been challenging for us this year, we have been training hard three times a week and were ready to compete with the other schools.
We started strongly on the first day with wins in the games against the American School in Paris and the British School of Brussels. The second day saw us fight hard, despite sustaining a number of injuries and the loss of one of our key players, however we were unfortunately unable to register a win in either game on the second day.
This set up a 3rd and 4th place play-off game on the Saturday. With ankles and knees strapped we played well and were unfortunate not to beat the opposition. Despite this we are proud of our fourth place in such a competitive tournament. Well done team!
A special mention goes to Yvonne who received an ISST all star tournament award. Lastly, a huge thank you to Miss Hartlief for her coaching and passionate support from the sidelines – it wouldn’t be the same without her energy! Thanks also to assistant coach, Louise Brown for keeping us all calm.
